perpetual_motion: electronics gone sentient is terrifying (goddamned mouthy bastard)
And I do not care, because apparently it's another year with my wacky detectives, Devin and Stanton, and if I had to write 17,000 words of complete ridiculous to get there, so be it.
perpetual_motion: Booster and Beetle 4-evah! (don't laugh don't laugh don't laugh)
I give you the "Aristocrats" joke I promised. Should you have forgotten what one is, I suggest Wikipedia. I am not linking you this time because I linked you last time. So there.

Quick note: the joke opens with a character grinning. That's because this is 2300 words from my 2005 NaNo novel. In case you were wondering what I'd do to meet word count.

Warning: Sheer awfulness ahead )
perpetual_motion: hang yourself please (instigator)
I'm still without a title for the story. In my head I've named it "The Further Wacky Adventures of Devin and Stanton and Micah and Kodachrome, and Lieutenant Cavanaugh. And Mark Tomilson. Who is a Dick. And an Indeterminate Number of Ninjas" But I'm sure the title will get longer than that the more people I add to it. That was kind of the point of the original version of this story: to be as balls-out goofy as possible.

So, all that said, enjoy chapters 2 and 3.

I am and I'm not working off my 2005 version of these characters. I'm checking back on a couple of facts, but more or less, I'm letting them find themselves. So, if you read the 2005 version after I linked it yesterday, you might find some inconsistencies.

On the other hand, this is NaNo we're talking about, so you'd be lucky if those were the only inconsistencies.

This Chapter: 2202

So, I wasn't gonna do NaNo, but then I was on Texts from Last Night, and there was a text that read as follows:

What part of i'm [sic] handcuffed to an oven do you not understand?

Which reminded me strongly of my 2005 NaNo. Which was absolutely, wonderfully, batshit, and which begs the question:

[Poll #1640551]

By the way, I can't promise it'll actually get FINISHED, but I'll damned well try.
perpetual_motion: hang yourself please (\o/)
This is a shortish section, only 6,000 words or so, but it's the end for real and true! Aren't you excited?!

Just realized I forgot to post the final part of the NaNo. Sorry. There were finals. It'll be up tomorrow.

I know you're salivating for it. :)

If I don't break the lj interface, I'm posting the last 14,000 words at once. I do not promise this will work.

The NaNo is complete!

It's killed out at 94717. I will take it. I'm sure I can crack 100,000 if I ever revise the thing.

Look for the final parts in the next 24 hours or so.

It goes all the way to eleven!

Sorry. It had to be done. The novel has hit 90k and may actually end soon. I just finished off the third-to-last chapter, I think. There may be one more chapter, but I really think it's close. Maybe. Send reinforcements.

I'm at 86k and change and probably within ten thousand words of the end (Yes, again. Shut up.). I'm happy to know people are keeping up. I can't wait to see if it ends like I think it will.

In case you're wondering, I'm at 72k and change and I might actually finish in the next 10k. Which is something I'm pretty sure I said when I hit 50k. So...yeah.

People are still reading this, yeah?

Hit 50k on the NaNo last night, and I did it by staying up until nearly 3. I'm kind of an idiot.

Also, the 50k mark is not the completion mark as it has been for previous NaNos. It appears to be the moment of first major catalyst, so yeah. There's that.

How's you, flist?
perpetual_motion: hang yourself please (Default)
I'm at 41k and change at the moment. If I really want to press on, I think I can whip out the other 9k this evening. We'll see. Whatever I do tonight, methinks this piece will not be concluded at 50k. To which I can only say: Well. Hmmm. Eloquent, no?

Because I've written 13,000 words since I last posted, which means I wrote 13,000 words in 4 days. Um, hey, NaNo. Glad you're healthy. Jesus.

You are getting, however, everything except the current chapter in progress. Because the current chapter in progess is apparently going to be around 4,000-5,000 words. Also, [livejournal.com profile] distaff_exile has noticed a bit of time travel in the fourth part (The first raid was '61. The second was '60). Ignore it. The Doctor and the TARDIS should be clear soon.
