Wanna Get Ficced?

Judd Winick's been writing some version of Green Arrow for five years. Judd Winick's written issues 1-14 of Green Arrow/Black Canary since day one, and the best thing he can do to end a long run is make sure Connor Hawke isn't Connor Hawke when he steps down from the book?

The most interesting things about Connor Hawke are all the things Judd has now wiped away. Connor's not a vegetarian. He's not a Buddist. He's not a pacifist, and now he can't shoot for shit. There are plenty of parts of Connor Hawke that have not been fully explored by Winick or any other writer. Why the fuck was Winick allowed come in and shit in the proverbial coffee pot? Who gave him the go-ahead to take Connor, completely dismantle him, and then go on his merry way?

I've said before that I really like Winick when he's writing a pure superhero book. When he sticks to capers and badguys and lots of flashy wisecracks, I think he's a lot of fun to read, but Winick trying to write a serious book with serious character development ideas? No. Not ever again. Because now we don't have Connor.
