For those not in the know, I'm a media minor. I know it's an utter shock to the system, considering how much I love just about everything bright and shiny that has to do with movies, television, books, or film. Being a media minor means I get to take fun classes, like Film Criticism or Films of the 70s.
And it means I get to watch "The Sting" on a big wide screen for a nominal part of my grade. Oh, yeah, you read that right.
I hadn't seen it before, and I realized that while I've seen plenty of caper movies, they don't have the light-heartedness of "The Sting". Yeah, sure, you've got the remake of "Ocean's Eleven", but even that has an eleventh-hour twist where you're at the edge of your seat. But "The Sting"? Unadulterated fun. There's no second level going on outside the con. It is exactly what it aims to be; a caper, and it's beautiful.
Now, then, where's the slash? [C'mon, I know you saw that comin'.]
