But there's something to be said for a show that's happily sincere in being about sincere people enjoying something sincerely.
Which is my way of saying that I've started watching "Glee". We've watched the first two episodes, and it's lovely. I like that Mr. Shue wants to be the Glee club leader, and I like that the kids in the club want to be there. I was expecting a "Mighty Ducks" thing, where Mr. Shue is getting punished for something by having to take over Glee.
I even like the relationship between Terri and Will; not because I know it'll end in epic terribleness, but because it's perfect because it's fucked up. It's the perfect example of what happens when you fall in love in high school and forget to realize that people will change. It doesn't always happen, but it happens enough.
