This flagging nonsense
Nov. 30th, 2007 09:38 amThe lj_biz post
I'm not going to go off on a rant about how ridiculous it is that livejournal has decided that other people with their different ideas of morality and taste have the right to wander over to my journal and flag anything they feel is "inappropriate". I think everyone who reads the lj_biz post can see how that can go to hell in a handbasket.
I will say this:
I am no one's babysitter. I am no one's mother. I am no one's role model. I am not morally obligated to be a bastion of good taste and proper etiquette because someone else is too lazy to keep an eye on what their kid is doing on the computer.
Because, really, what this comes down to is we have to spare the children. No, we have to parent the children, and I am no one's parent. I'll not go back and mark any of my entries "inappropriate" because I make it very clear what this journal is for. Don't like it? Don't read it. And if you feel I am so terribly inappropriate that I must be flagged, at least have the decency to argue your point to me first.
My journal, my settings, my morality. Not yours.
