Mr. Wolfe is still smarter than you.

The very talented Maury Chaykin passed away today. I was first introduced to him as Nero Wolfe in the A&E series of the same name, and no matter where else I saw him, my response was always, "Mr. Wolfe!"

R.I.P., Mr. Chaykin. You were a damned talented man, and you will always be my Mr. Wolfe.

I always remembered him as the slobbering Major in Dances with Wolves, which was a tiny role, but totally set up the whole rest of the film.

The Husband and I watched "Where the Truth Lies" recently, and he was in it along with two or three other regulars from NW, and I said to The Husband, "You know, I'm sure someone here was connected to that show, and even if it's nepotism, I still get to see Nero Wolfe on screen." When The Husband pointed out MC wasn't playing Wolfe, I chose to ignore him.
